BNP given oxygen of publicity

I see the BNP has gone all Churchillian in its quest for lots of free publicity.  Seems to have worked a treat as the media are in a right old tizzy about the rather juvenile marketing campaign the political racists have dreamed up.  And now the BBC has got in on the act by giving the BNP  yet more free publicity

Now their cause has been further boosted by some stiff upper lip army chaps.  A letter signed by General Sir Richard Dannatt and General Sir Mike Jackson, both former heads of the Army, said the party was tarnishing the forces’ reputation by associating itself with soldiers’ sacrifices.   Strange that he didn’t complain when the rather smarmy leader of the Tories went for cheap votes by attaching himself like glue to the solders in Afghanistan in his keynot conference speech.

Maybe I missed it but I don’t recall any politician hanging his head in shame for greedily snaffling taxpayers’ money to do up their homes and gardens – whilst sending soldiers to die for lack of the right kit.

But back to those BNP chappies who are apparently now battling for Britain.  The letter highlights fears in the top echelons of the military that the BNP is exploiting servicemen.

It says: ‘We call on all those who seek to hijack the good name of Britain’s military for their own advantage to cease and desist.

‘The values of these extremists – many of whom are essentially racist – are fundamentally

The new row came as an apparent list of the party’s members and their personal details were posted on the internet, in the third leak of its membership in recent years.

The names include former senior members of the military, doctors and professors, according to the spreadsheet posted on the wild leaks web site.

Ironically, Nick griffin seems oblivious to the armed forces use of cheap foreign labour.  It took a few centuries of service and a few hours of Joanna Lumley’s time to highlight the disgraceful plight of the Gurkhas.  And a good eal of those sptifires featured behind the gruesome Griffin were piloted by Johnny Foreigners on our behalf.

I’m all for the BNP getting all the publicity it wants.  There is something disturbingly facist about trying to silence political parties just because you disagree with them.  And in a political system so rife with greed, stupidity and corruption as ours, it is somewhat reassuring to see the BNP shoot itself in the foot .
